Silver City, NM Spirituality Center

St. Mary's Center in Silver City, New Mexico offer workshops and retreats throughout the year. Check this website often for a current schedule. Individuals are also invited to make private retreats or use the space for personal prayer.

We hope to offer a contemplative haven. Our contemplation will contain both prayer and action for both the people and the land for the sake of bringing about the unity described in our mission.

St. Mary’s Chapel is open daily from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Anyone is welcome to visit the chapel. A prayer request book is located at the entrance and visitors listing requests may be assured that Sisters are praying for them.

There is a prayer room on the south side of the convent used for various groups and for prayer or meditation. A library of spiritual books and videos that may be checked out is also available.

The 18.4 acres comprising St. Mary’s hosts the posadas at Christmas time, holds regular weekly 12-step meetings, prayer groups and special events such as the Discover Camp (scroll down for more information) for junior high girls sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph. At any given time, there may be someone at Joseph House making a private retreat.
