Sister Pat Eichner
Concordia, Kan.
I grew up in Ogallah and attended Catholic elementary school and public high school. My parents still live there. We were members of St. Luke parish.
I first heard about the Sisters of St. Joseph through Sister Margaret Jilka, who was involved in the Search program in the Grand Island Diocese. I was drawn to the Concordia CSJ’s simple life style and their rural roots. I have grown to love our mission of being a reconciling presence to those we minister to; of uniting neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God. I cannot imagine myself being anything else but a Sister of St. Joseph.
Being a part of a Religious community provides some unique opportunities to be in relationship with those you minister to and with. I have formed special relationships with people I would never have had a chance to meet, if it hadn’t been for the opportunities being in community has provided for me. My life had been blessed over and over again by the people I have come to know in my ministry.
Once in a while I find time to read. I enjoy a variety of titles. In good weather I like to ride my bicycle.
