Annual Motherhouse Plant Sale set for May 7

March 1, 2022 by

The annual Nazareth Motherhouse Plant Sale is set for 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 7 — a perfect time to shop before Mother’s Day on May 8.
This year’s sale will be outside on the southwest side of the Motherhouse.

Assistant Director of Development Ambria Gilliland, along with the Motherhouse organic gardener Lyle Pounds, have been hard at work this winter planning some unique new offerings for this year.

“Lyle has been busy out in the greenhouse this year. It looks like a jungle in there!” Gilliland exclaimed.

In addition to the fan-favorite hanging baskets, this year will feature an array of amazing succulents in creative settings that will be sure to be a topic of conversation in your garden or on the patio.
Pounds has prepared a greenhouse-full of beautiful hanging baskets, but be sure to come early, as they always sell out fast.

There also will be an assortment of garden decor to enhance your patios and porches. A selection of beautifully potted house plants will be available.

“I just love all the unique items we have. There’s something for everyone,” Gilliland said.
The sale will be behind the garages on the west side of the Motherhouse, 1300 Washington, Concordia, Kansas.

Garage Sales
In addition to the plant sale, there will be two different sister-related garage sales going on that morning in Concordia.
The Nazareth Motherhouse garage sale will be from 8 a.m. to noon in the same location as the plant sale.

The Manna House of Prayer garage sale and bake sale will be from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Manna House of Prayer, 323 East Fifth St., Concordia.
In addition to the garage sale, Manna House also will be holding a bake sale during those hours.
The delicious selection of baked goods — ranging from home-made cookies to breads and more — will be the perfect addition for a Mother’s Day feast.

The Manna House sales will be in the driveway and garages behind the building.

“This is one event that we all really look forward to because we get to visit with the shoppers and talk about flowers,” Gilliland said.
