Change, Transition, Transformation…

January 23–29, 2022

Change! This retreat focuses on the experience of change and its aftermath. Whether voluntary or involuntary, change changes us. And change, to be integrated as part of life’s process, must be woven together with transition. Transition is a difficult road to travel. Its demands are often weighted with suffering and ambiguity, patience and risk, choices and resistance. Transition successfully negotiated blesses us with a new and deeper identity.

This retreat presents the opportunities to bridge the fearsome gap between change and transformation. It enables the retreatant to navigate the necessary transition period.

Whatever loss we experience because of change – loss of a loved one, loss of health, loss of a well-loved job or profession through retirement or down-sizing, loss of a marriage through death or divorce, loss of reputation, loss of a home, loss of an election or appointment. Whatever we have lost, that loss changes us. This retreat is an invitation to enter into the loss and find ways to befriend it and recover integrity of personhood. Or, at least, to discover how to begin the transition process.

The retreat begins at 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 23 and ends on Saturday, January 29, 2022 with lunch. Participants can register for in-person or Zoom participation.

Guides for this retreat: Gilla Dubé and Marcia Allen, both Sisters of St. Joseph on the staff of Manna House of Prayer; both well-experienced in the pain and joy of the path of transitions.

Cost:  In Person at Manna House: $500 (Registration, Room and Meals)
