CSJ Associates conclude annual retreat with recommitment

Ten CSJ Associates renewed their commitment to the Sisters of St. Joseph Saturday evening (March 29) as the congregation welcomed two woman who asked to begin the process of becoming Associates.

The half-hour ceremony at Manna House of Prayer in Concordia concluded the annual Associates Retreat.

Gerry Parker of Salina and Mary Ray of Manhattan are beginning their journey as CSJ Associate candidates.

Those renewing their commitments are:

  • Amber Charbonneau of Dewey, Okla.
  • Jane Christensen of Concordia
  • Rosalita Flax of Ness City, Kan.
  • Susan LeDuc of Concordia
  • Bill and Susan Riordan of Salina
  • Catherine Seitz of Manhattan
  • Myrna Shelton of Prandall, Kan.
  • Nancy Welsh of Topeka

The CSJ Associate is a Christian adult who is committed to Gospel values; feels drawn by the charism, spirituality and mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph; desires to deepen his or her spiritual life; is willing to give oneself in service to the dear neighbor; and is committed to building community.

CSJ Associates are men and women from all ages and all walks of life. They meet regularly for prayer and sharing either in groups or one-on-one.

Also taking part in the annual retreat were Sisters Janet Lander and Jean Befort, the co-directors of the CSJ Associates program and numerous other sisters who are active in Associate groups.
