I was 47 when I entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia.

The many years that I contemplated religious life, in retrospect, I’ve come to realize that I lived “as if.” I already was a religious.

I would be mystified when total strangers would address me as “Sister,” being fairly certain that it was not my aura of holiness that was being identified!

Then one day, when I was preparing to leave one parish to work at another, a dear elderly parishioner told me that she would certainly miss my “presence.”

Such a simple message, but I resonated deep within me and I knew I had arrived!
