Sisters Visit the State Capitol

On Ash Wednesday, six Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia traveled to the Capitol in Topeka to join about 25 other Sisters, also from Kansas, to request that Medicaid be expanded to include 150,000 more Kansans! The Sisters presented a letter requesting Medicaid Expansion to Governor Laura Kelly, Senate President Ty Masterson, Speaker of the House Dan Hawkins and other Senators and Representatives. Over 200 Sisters from across the state of Kansas had signed on in support of the letter. Senator Elaine Bowers greeted the group before departure.
